Brooklyn Technical Services has over 30 years’ experience in developing Unix-based solutions for businesses, nonprofits and online communities. We are one of the pioneers of online and social media in NYC.
We collaborated on NYC’s first public-access, multiuser BBS and helped build the first online presences for PBS and WNET TV. We developed the ground-breaking, tree-structured conferencing system, Magpie, which was adopted by five of the largest school systems in the US. We built the first mobile patient referral system for NYC’s medically-underserved population and, in partnership with the NYC Department of Health, the first software to study the reproductive and mental health history of the largest metro school system in the country. We were selected to develop the web component for the Healthy and Ready to Learn initiative for the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene and the NYC Dept. of Education.
