Site Building
You design it; we build it. We work with designers to take their ideas live. It’s what we’ve done since our early days of constructing functional prototypes for Citibank’s human factors group and launching PBS' Learning Link.
Advanced PHP Development
BTS leverages the world’s two most reliable open-source web technologies, Linux and PHP. We have over 30 years’ experience on Unix-based systems and with large, scalable applications. We employ modern, proven technologies like Laravel, jQuery, NodeJS and WordPress.
Data Driven Software
BTS has experience in many industries, from constructing HIPAA-compliant software for Children’s Health Fund to a job board portal for Citicorp to social media and e-commerce platforms. BTS has been involved in social media since the days of dial-up.
Social Media Development
BTS has been developing social media applications since before the term “social media” was even a thing. We developed one of the first tree-structured information systems, Magpie, in 1986 which was scaled up for the NYC Board of Education and the LA, Detroit and Chicago school systems.
Database Consulting
We have three decades of experience in database design and specialize in the ubiquitous SQL workhorse, PostgreSQL, and the popular MySQL and MongoDB.

Brooklyn Technical Services has over 30 years’ experience in developing Unix-based solutions for businesses, nonprofits and online communities. We are one of the pioneers of online and social media in NYC.

We collaborated on NYC’s first public-access, multiuser BBS and helped build the first online presences for PBS and WNET TV. We developed the ground-breaking, tree-structured conferencing system, Magpie, which was adopted by five of the largest school systems in the US. We built the first mobile patient referral system for NYC’s medically-underserved population and, in partnership with the NYC Department of Health, the first software to study the reproductive and mental health history of the largest metro school system in the country. We were selected to develop the web component for the Healthy and Ready to Learn initiative for the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene and the NYC Dept. of Education.
