Site Building
You design it. We build it. Since our early days of constructing functional prototypes for Citibank's human factors group, that's what we've done. We take your ideas, then take them live.

BTS is leveraged on two of the world's most reliable, open-source technologies: Unix and PHP. We have over 20 years' development experience on Unix and Linux-based systems and 12 years of background with large, scalable PHP applications.
BTS has extensive experience in several industries, from constructing HIPAA-compliant software for the NYC Department of Health to a job board portal for Citicorp to social media and mediated conferencing systems. BTS has been intimately involved in Unix-based online and social media since the days of dial-up.
BTS has been developing social media applications since before the term "social media" was even coined. We developed one of the first tree-structured information systems, Magpie, back in 1986. It was later rebuilt for the NYC Board of Education and the LA, Detroit and Chicago school systems as a student-teacher information and messaging system.
We are experts in database design and maintenance, specializing in the ubiquitous workhorse, PostgreSQL.
Brooklyn Technical Services has over 30 years' experience in developing Unix-based solutions for businesses, nonprofits and online communities. We are one of the pioneers of online and social media in NYC.
We collaborated on NYC's first public-access, multiuser BBS and helped build the first online presences for PBS and WNET TV. We developed the ground-breaking, tree-structured conferencing system, Magpie, which was adopted by five of the largest school systems in the country. We built the first patient referral and tracking system for NYC's medically-underserved population and, in partnership with the NYC Department of Health, the first software to study the reproductive and mental health history of a large metro school system. We were selected to develop the web component for the Healthy and Ready to Learn project with partners, the Children's Health Fund and the NYC Department of Health.
